The 11th meeting of the Russian-Chinese permanent working group on cooperation in the field of veterinary supervision, phytosanitary control and food safety was held in St. Petersburg from September 24 to 26, 2023.

 

"In terms of Russian grain exports, the agency noted a significant increase in the supply of these products to the Chinese market since the beginning of 2023. Thus, as of September 24, according to the data of FGIS "Argus-Fito", a record 3.6 million tons of grain and processed products were shipped from Russia to China, which is three times higher than in the same period of 2022 and 63% higher than in the whole of 2022," the report says.

 

In addition, following the results of the meeting, the Chinese side expanded the list of beef by-products that can be supplied from Russia to China (beef aortas and beef cartilage). Regarding the addition of other by-products to this list, the Chinese side requested additional information, which the Russian agency provided. "Foreign colleagues promised to promptly consider it and provide their response," the ministry said in a statement.
