Rospotrebnadzor has developed recommendations for reducing risks in the manufacture of ready-made food

12 January 2026
"Rospotrebnadzor, together with specialists from the Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Ready-made Food, including technologists from its member enterprises, has defined "ready-made food" for the first time. Rospotrebnadzor has also developed and focuses special attention on methodological recommendations that are designed to reduce risks in the manufacture and delivery of "ready meals," the agency's press service said.

The guidelines contain practical measures for product identification, packaging and labeling conditions, as well as for ensuring its safety for consumers. The documents cover technological and organizational features aimed at preventing microbiological contamination and maintaining product quality at all stages — from production to the end user.

In 2025, 900 samples of finished products were selected in the retail network throughout Russia. According to the results of laboratory tests, 64% of the samples did not meet the sanitary and epidemiological requirements for microbiological indicators, and pathogenic microflora was found in 19 samples. These data indicate the threat of low-quality and potentially dangerous products in the absence of special requirements for the "ready-to-eat" segment.
