Russia increased exports of active yeast in 2025

14 January 2026
The export of active yeast from Russia in 2025 demonstrated positive dynamics: in January–November, about 38 thousand tons of products worth almost $72 million were shipped to foreign customers. Compared to the same period in 2024, exports increased by 22% in physical terms and by 12% in monetary terms.

Uzbekistan remains the largest supply route in value terms, where more than $10 million worth of active yeast was exported. The top importers are also: Iraq (over $7 million), Saudi Arabia (over $6 million), Kazakhstan with imports of over $4 million and Tanzania — over $3 million.

The highest export figures for active yeast were recorded in 2024, when, according to the results of the full calendar year, Russia supplied almost $74 million worth of products abroad. The current results allow the market to speak about the preservation of export potential and high demand for Russian products.

In 2025, Russia began shipping active yeast to Namibia for the first time since 2021, and also returned to the Algerian market after a break in 2022.
