Russian Corn Starch Exports Increased by 72% in January–June 2026

In January–June 2026, Russia significantly increased its corn starch exports. According to expert estimates, overseas shipments reached 27,000 tonnes, worth approximately USD 11.3 million. Compared with the same period in 2025, exports increased by 72% both in volume and value.

CIS Countries Remain the Main Export Destinations
According to Agroexport, the largest volume was shipped to Uzbekistan — more than 11,000 tonnes. Belarus and Kazakhstan were also among the leading importers, with each country accounting for around 4,000 tonnes of shipments. Tajikistan purchased more than 1,700 tonnes, while Kyrgyzstan imported over 1,500 tonnes of Russian corn starch.

Russian Products Enter New Foreign Markets
One of the key developments in the first half of 2026 was the emergence of a new export destination. For the first time since records began, Russia started supplying corn starch to Afghanistan. The initial shipments amounted to approximately 250 tonnes, with a total value approaching USD 150,000.

Corn Starch Exports Continue to Grow
The growth recorded in 2026 continues the positive trend observed in previous years. In 2025, Russia exported more than 40,000 tonnes of corn starch worth a total of USD 16.7 million.
