List of participants

Ochakovsky Food Ingredients Plant presented at the exhibition complex mixtures for the production of sausages and semi-finished products, flavour and aromatic additives, spice extracts, carrageenans, alginates, gums and other ingredients. Grigory Khlybov, Project Manager at the company, noted the importance of the exhibition for promptly resolving issues with suppliers:

"For us, participation in the Global Ingredients Show is not only a matter of image, but also an important risk management tool. In the current conditions of economic instability, the opportunity to meet in person with suppliers from China, India and Malaysia allows us to resolve issues of product quality, logistics and terms of cooperation more quickly. During the exhibition, our team held a large number of meetings with both existing customers and potential partners. We see high practical value in this event for ourselves and plan to make participation in the exhibition annual."

The company ECOS presented at the exhibition its traditional range of functional and flavour-aromatic additives and single ingredients, and also demonstrated for the first time at its stand special clothing for food production. Anton Zuev, Lead Marketer of the company, noted:

"For our company, this exhibition has become traditional. We supply additives and ingredients for the food industry, but this year we are presenting our new product: workwear for food production. At the exhibition, you can assess the quality of the fabric and tailoring — it is important for us to give our clients this opportunity. Personal meetings are still valuable for establishing business contacts. Here we meet with our partners from China and find new clients."

Syren, a manufacturer of perfume fragrances for industrial use, presented at the exhibition fragrances for perfumery and cosmetics, aromatic compositions for household chemicals, scents for candles and diffusers. Evgenia Ryazantseva, Sales Manager, shared her impressions:

"The exhibition is excellent. We are participating for the first time. We presented a new product — encapsulated fragrances for household chemicals — but we also want to assess the food ingredients industry, because we plan to produce food flavourings. Here you can see who is doing what and pick up some ideas. There are no random people at the exhibition. Those who are engaged in food production come here purposefully."

The exhibition debutant, UltraMol, presented at the exhibition automated milling systems for producing fine and ultra-fine powders. Pavel Grechkin, Director of the company, shared his opinion about the exhibition and future plans:

"For me, the exhibition is a focal point of potential clients, a place for establishing contacts with people. This is an important event for us, the preparation for which forces us out of our comfort zone and stimulates us to develop new equipment and new solutions. We are exhibiting for the first time in the food sector. Manufacturers of dietary supplements and food products have a need for our products. And we have something to offer the food industry — we plan to double our production volume of our equipment."

The Chinese company Skyherb presented at the exhibition standardised botanical extracts, including green tea extracts in various specifications and standardisations, as well as natural caffeine from guarana, green tea and green coffee beans. Anna Filinova, Sales Department Manager at Skyherb, shared her opinion about the exhibition:

"We are participating for the second time. It is an excellent platform for solving several tasks at one time in one place. There is a fairly high concentration of professionals here. In addition to procurement buyers, many people from R&D departments came, with whom it was possible to discuss the use of our ingredients in their finished product. The return from the exhibition was good. We got to know companies that were new to us, with whom we had no opportunity to cross paths, but here we met in person. We also managed to gather a good database of potential clients."

The strategic session of the 'Food Products' track covered the following topics: the current situation on the Russian ingredients market and the key factors and trends determining the development of the global food ingredients market; support measures for organising production and deep processing of agricultural products and biotechnologies; financing from development institutions and financial organisations; reducing dependence on imports, and much more.

During the session 'A Big Conversation: Retail, Food Producers, Ingredient Suppliers', the discussion participants discussed how to transform consumer demand into a sought-after product through cooperation of the entire chain. Representatives of retail chains spoke about how consumer demand is being shaped today, how the assortment is changing under the influence of the buyer, and what a manufacturer should pay attention to in the first place. Food producers shared their experience of working with requests from retail and the end consumer and examined the stages that make up the development of a new product, including products for private labels. Ingredient suppliers spoke about how they analyse trends and, based on this, formulate technological proposals.

An important event of the forum was the 'Technological Workshop: From Trend to Formulation', during which industry trends in the use of food additives in food production were identified, and technological solutions and ingredients for meat, dairy, confectionery products and beverages were presented.

The strategic session of the 'Cosmetics and Perfumery' track addressed issues of import substitution of raw materials and ingredients; development potential of small-volume chemistry; prospects for creating 'national ingredients'; opportunities for development and implementation of innovations; export potential of Russian brands, and much more.
A separate session of the track was dedicated to R&D in the cosmetic industry.

The thematic sessions of the 'Dietary Supplements' track examined development trends in this area, new developments, requirements for the quality of raw materials and finished products, various aspects of production of specialised nutrition, and features of state regulation of this sphere.

Session partners of the forum: Union of Dietary Supplement Producers, Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Functional Food Products and Ingredients.
